Consumer Bankruptcy Services to Kentucky and Southern Indiana Residents
At O’Bryan Law Offices, we are fully committed to attentive and resourceful client service in a fast-paced practice atmosphere that’s positive, supportive and welcoming. To learn how you can resolve serious problems with debt from one of the region’s outstanding bankruptcy lawyers, contact us to speak with Julie O’Bryan or one of her associates with locations in Louisville, Frankfort or New Albany.
Our practice focuses solely on practical debt relief solutions through Chapter 7 bankruptcy or Chapter 13 bankruptcy of the Bankruptcy Code, while at the same time working toward recovery of a client’s credit rating as quickly as possible. Most of our clients start receiving new credit card offers within a few weeks of the bankruptcy filing, and most will qualify for market-rate home or car loans within two years of discharge so long as they have been responsible with managing their credit after the bankruptcy filing.
We offer practical advice and support through all stages of your case, from discussing the decision to file for bankruptcy to monitoring your progress toward a healthy credit score. Along the way, we will advise and represent clients in bankruptcy court on any one or several of the following:
- Stop collections and creditor harassment and lawsuits
- Chapter 7 bankruptcy including a Chapter 7 timeline
- Chapter 13 bankruptcy including a Chapter 13 timeline
- Protecting your home from mortgage foreclosure
- Restoring your credit after discharge from bankruptcy
- Credit Counseling
Whenever possible, we appreciate the opportunity to advise clients about basic do’s and don’ts of bankruptcy, so that we can get their cases off to the right start and avoid future problems. Along the way, we get to set our clients straight about bankruptcy myths and misconceptions and the mistakes to avoid prior to bankruptcy that often delay filing for relief much longer than necessary.
Our firm’s founding Louisville bankruptcy attorney, Julie O’Bryan is one of only five Kentucky lawyers to be board certified as a consumer bankruptcy attorney from the American Board of Certification. Learn more about O’Bryan Law Offices and how we’re different than other firms.
Your Initial Consultation
We will start by scheduling a “Fresh Start Planning Session” where we meet in person, discuss your situation and talk about your options. We will discuss bankruptcy basics and get your case off to the right start and avoid future problems. Along the way, we’ll educate you on bankruptcy myths and misconceptions and the mistakes to avoid prior to bankruptcy that often delay the process.
Unlike other law firms, you will meet with an attorney for your initial consultation. At this meeting, you can retain our firm by making a $300.00 payment toward your legal fees.
